Golden Horseshoe Chorus

In 2006, a small group of men came up with a fantastic idea. Unfortunately due to their age, they forgot the idea and instead started a singing organization now known as the Golden Horseshoe Chorus. The chorus gave these gents the opportunity to sing in the a cappella style (without accompaniment) and rehearse during the day. As our name suggests, the members come from across Ontario's Golden Horseshoe; St. Catharines, Stoney Creek, Hamilton, Burlington, Guelph, Brantford, Oakville, Mississauga, Brampton and even one fellow from Owen Sound. After years of being bothered by adoring female fans who wanted their own opportunity to sing, our women's chorus formed in April 2014. Under the artistic leadership of the dynamic duo, Jordan and Liz Travis, the Golden Horseshoe Chorus enjoys entertaining audiences wherever people will listen. From jazz to doo wop to barbershop, this chorus enjoys a lot of laughs, learning, and time to catch up with friends while singing great music and having fun.

Daytime recreational choruses for men (Thursday afternoons, 1:00) and for women (Thursday mornings, 10:00), where participants sing 4-part harmony, unaccompanied, generally but not exclusively in the "barbershop" style. We use the church's lower level theatre room, and are seated for most of our two-hour rehearsals. Our director is internationally renowned Jordan Travis, who also directs both men's and women's award winning choruses in southern Ontario, and coaches vocal music around the world.
