My name is Cathy Disbrow and my company is Woolly Doodles. I create unique needle felt creations out of wool. My technique starts by sketching an idea on paper, what I like to call a doodle. I take sheep or alpaca wool, stab the wool fibres together with a barbed needle to create denser shapes, and viola, a Woolly Doodle is born! I also needle felt wool “paintings” by stabbing wool into a pre-felted sheet. I've been known to wet felt some jewelry and paintings as well.
I’m not only an artist but a needle felt teacher. I enjoy spreading the love of needle felting through workshops and classes that I teach in Burlington and the surrounding area, including Hamilton and Oakville. I also teach private parties from people's homes.
