Multiple Award Winning Waterfront Planning and Development Projects
Over 50 municipal waterfront plans throughout Ontario including currently the Oakville Harbour Master Plan, the $4.5 million Port Credit Memorial Park in Mississauga, $3 million St. Lawrence Park property for the City of Mississauga, the $6 million Port Credit Harbour; all urban design award winning projects. Other notable waterfronts include the $4.5 million North Bay Waterfront, Colonel Sam Smith Promenade in Etobicoke, Lindsay Rivera Park, Kenora Waterfront Park, Kincardine Waterfront Park, Hamilton Beach Study, Timmins Waterfront, Frenchman's Bay Waterfront Park in Pickering and Confederation Park in Hamilton.
Recent waterfront mater plans include Oakville Harbour and Mississauga Lakeside Waterfront Park both in the $5 million plus range. John has unsurpassed experience in waterfront development throughout Canada and has been project manager and lead designer for over $70 million of constructed waterfront Park Developments.
Sports and Recreation Facilities - Leader in Artificial Turf Fields in Ontario
Several recent multi-million dollar Regional level sports parks were completed for the City of Mississauga, containing artificial turf football and soccer fields, sand based baseball and soccer fields, splash pads, cricket pitches, pavilions, skating facilities, trails, parking, operations centers and washroom centers.
The firm has designed and built over $100 million of sports parks in the last 8 years in the GTA.
Sports complexes and artificial turf fields include facilities in Mississauga, Toronto, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Burlington, Oakville, North Bay, Brantford, Peterborough, Cobourg and Brampton..
JGA are the leading experts in the design and construction of artificial turf fields in Canada. The firm has designed and built over 40 artificial turf fields in Ontario, including more FIFA rated fields than anyone in North America and the first state of the art TPE and shock pad fields in North America. Other recent projects include Recreation Centers, Arenas and Libraries in Brampton, Burlington, Mississauga, and Caledon.
Environmental Planning and Development
In the environmental management field he has directed or co-directed several studies including the Red Lake Historical Waterway Study, the Red Hill Creek Expressway Landscape Management Plan, Briggs Environmental Toronto Terrain Analysis, and Pukaskwa National Park. He implemented ecological and environmental systems within a number of other studies, municipal park and waterfront projects.
Urban Design
The firm is responsible for several urban design projects including Oakville's Centennial Plaza and Bobbie Rosenfeld Park and John Street Corridor projects; a $6 million urban plaza and park located between the CN Tower and SkyDome Stadium completed for the City of Toronto Parks Department. The firm completed the detailed design for the new Sheridan College SCAET Animation and Emerging Technologies Center in Oakville
