Central Park Community Garden
The Central Park community garden was established in 2012 with 30 plots. In 2018 it expanded to 55 plots for Burlington residents to grow their own organic, fresh flowers, herbs, fruit and veggies. Local non-profit org BurlingtonGreen operates 3 plots and areas around the garden for their Grow to Give volunteer led food donation program to local food banks. Visitors are welcome and may be invited inside the garden when a gardener is on site.
Burlington's Strategic Plan 2015 - 2040 supports the development of new community gardens across Burlington which may be built and operated either by the city on park land, or by community groups on private and school lands. The community garden coordinator is available to consult with any Burlington agency, business, school or resident group interested in developing new community gardens throughout the city. For more information please visit the Community Gardens webpage.
